Stopping or Pausing Automatic Charging of Recurring Orders

regpack allows you to pause the automatic charging of recurring orders without cancelling them or changing how they are added to your users' carts a recurring order is created each time a recurring product (also called a subscription) is added to a user's cart on its schedule this setting does not affect autobill installment plans, which are controlled separately this guide explains where to find the setting, what changes when it is off, and what happens when you turn it back on accessing the setting navigate to project settings → payments or click here while logged into regpack scroll to the section autobill, recurring payments and revenue security the setting is labeled enable auto charging of recurring orders note this setting is on by default in every project if you have never changed it, your recurring orders are charging exactly as they always have turning off automatic charging navigate to project settings → payments switch enable auto charging of recurring orders to off confirm the change when prompted once the setting is off, a red warning box appears at the top of your payments settings and remains visible for as long as automatic charging is paused what happens when the setting is off recurring orders continue to be added to users' carts on their normal schedule nothing changes here automatic charging stops the system will not collect payment for recurring orders autobill installment plans completely unaffected installments continue to charge as scheduled manual payments all manual payment options remain available you can charge a user at any time products and carts nothing is hidden, cancelled, or deleted users see their recurring products in the cart as usual unpaid recurring amounts accumulate as an open balance on the user's account turning automatic charging back on when you switch enable auto charging of recurring orders back to on, the system automatically charges recurring payments from the last 2 days only note recurring payments that were skipped before that 2 day window are never charged automatically turning the setting back on resumes automatic charging going forward, it does not collect what was missed collecting skipped payments to collect amounts that were skipped while the setting was off, you have two options charge the user manually process the payment through the backend from the user's payment panel leave the open balance have the user log in to their account and pay the balance themselves how this works with enable autobill payments these two settings sit in the same section of your payments settings and control different things enable autobill payments the master switch turning it off stops all automatic charging in the project, both installment plans and recurring orders enable auto charging of recurring orders the finer control use it when you want installment plans to keep charging normally but need recurring charging paused note when enable autobill payments is off, the installment offering settings below it are hidden your saved values are kept and return exactly as they were once autobill is re enabled if you have questions about setup or usage, contact our support team at support\@regpacks com
