Offering a catalog of your options before your potential customers become your real applicants is a great way to peak their interest and give them information about what you are offering. You can display your products along with what is sold out or wait-listed before your applicants register fully. To set up your system to display your product offerings FIRST, follow the steps below: First you need to navigate to Settings and then Forms.
Next, you will want to make your first form anonymous -- available for anyone to see before creating an account. To do that, hover over your first form and select Edit Form Properties.
Scroll to the end of the Form Settings menu and click On across from Anonymous. Remember, anonymous means that applicants can access & edit this form without registering / logging in. An account profile will be created once this form is completed.
Click Update Form and then select Edit Form Fields on your new anonymous form.
Once inside your form, use the left-side panel and select Products and Services under the Payments and Orders section. Then add the Products and Services widget to the top / bottom or drag it into position in your form.
You can click the Products and Services widget to edit it. You can change the label that your applicants will see. Note: that the form must be marked as anonymous before you add the Products and Services widget.
- Select which products you’d like displayed – either “all” or “selected”.
- Click the widget to access settings, and toggle Set to presentation mode to on.
- Click Save Field -> Save Form.
- Be sure to follow the steps for an anonymous first form in order for users to land on this when your project is embedded or when you give the link to your system. Find those steps here.
Disable Product Triggers
An additional setting allows you to disable product triggers, so ALL products, including ones that are triggered, will show. This can cause issues when users begin to register as they will view products they might not be able to eventually select due to triggers. We recommend you leave this setting off unless you need your system to function in this way and understand the implications.
Note: When the product widget is set to presentation mode, users cannot select and purchase products. Presentation mode is simply to showcase your offerings. If this form is the first in your system, users can move to the next step and begin the account creation or product selection process, and follow your system set up for registration and payment collection.
Front End Experience
Below is an example of how the product widget will present in presentation mode.
You can elect to have the Create Account and Login buttons appear at the top right, as shown below, which will allow users to create an account or login to their existing account.
At the bottom of the catalog, you have a button that defaults to Go to Next Step. You can change this in the back end, as we’ve done below. This will take the user to the first form in your registration process.
We suggest you add an Email field to the top or bottom of your catalog or any anonymous form, to ensure you can capture interested parties and their information. This will automatically create a user in the back once they go to the next form.
